Working in the UK with Medeeca

The UK is very convenient and is situated just 20 miles from the rest of Europe. This is linked by the Channel Tunnel. Airports are in abundance in the UK and flights to Europe are quick and easy to gain. The UK has one of the most respected Health Care Systems in the world and it has always welcomed workers from other countries.

Are you eligible to work in the UK? You will be eligible to work in the UK if you fall into one of the following categories:

Working Holiday Visa (Commonwealth Countries Only) (Doctors can not work on this type of visa)

You must be a single person aged 17-30 inclusive, coming to the UK for the purpose of a holiday and only taking work that is incidental to that holiday. (Work must not be your main objective on this type of visa). You may only stay for a maximum of 2 years on this type of visa, at which time you should return to your country of origin.

UK Ancestry

If either of your parents were born in the UK, you could qualify for a British Passport, or if your grandparents were born in the UK you can apply for a UK Grandparent Entry Certificate which will allow you to work for up to 4 years.

Other factors that could enable you to work in the UK Shortage occupations in the UK may be eligible for a work permit (please contact Medeeca) for an up to date list of all occupations presently on the Shortage Occupations List.

If you are a European Community National then you do not require a work permit to work in the UK you can enter the UK at any time.

Things to remember

If you do not have a passport with a visa allowing you to work in the UK, you will need a work permit. This can be organised for you by Medeeca, once a suitable position has been found for you and you are in agreement with such a position.

Remember never leave your country of origin without a work permit in hand as this will be needed when entering the UK. Your passport will need to be stamped with the work permit visa stamp. Any dependents will have to be named as work permit dependent to allow them to travel to the UK with you. Because you have a work permit it does not automatically allow your family to travel with you. (Please confirm details with a Consultant at Medeeca before travelling).

Certain countries need an exit visa, please check with your British High Commission before starting your travel plans.

If you still feel that moving to the UK is for you then please drop us an email at enquiries@medeeca.com and let us discuss further with you your requirements.
